Arrived at beginning of depression & sent to Gabbin - drove a team of 12 horses then to Harvey to dig potatoes. Acquired & lost a conditional purchase block. Moved to Perth where he became an ABC radio announcer and news reader between 1936-1945. During 1945-1949 post-war reconstruction, worked various jobs.
