Read their story

Dad was known to us as Leslie Stuart Clayton. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Forces on the 29th January 1942 & was a Private who served in the Guerilla Warfare School, 5th Independent Co. 2/16th Battalion & then the 2/5th Australian Commando. He served in WWII. His nickname was 'Boundary Clayton'. His service took him to Port Moresby, New Guinea, Balikpapan, Borneo & Celebe Islands. Discharged 04/02/1946. He has 8 medals plus a Double Black Diamond Badge. He had 4 children, (only 3 still alive), 53 great-grandchildren & 1 g.grandchild. Dad had a love & passion for horses & his garden. He never knew his own mother or father as he was an orphan. He was a loving family man.
