After surviving the war in Europe and England and a failed marriage, Phyllis (Riddell) brought her son James (6) to WA for a new life, as there were more opportunities. Phyllis worked as a housekeeper in numerous Southwest and Midwest towns until the early 60s, when she moved to Perth due to ill health.
