Herbert Childe was a pioneer in the Bilbarin District, granted 1000 acres in 1910/11. He remained on the land until retirement but his passion was poultry. He had managed the Scottish Poultry Co Ltd before emigrating to WA. Herbert was a Poultry Judge for many years at the Royal Perth Show and also judged at the many country shows across the state.
