Colin married Leila Dorothy Reid in Dalwallinu in 1954. Together they had four children; Carl, Gail, Robyn and Linda. In 1970 the family moved to Perth after severe drought in Dalwallinu. Colin worked in Perth as a service advisor and manager in a Holden dealership until his retirement.
