Amos was a coal miner and migrated to WA with wife, Annie (dob 15/2/1882) and son, Harold (dob 8/9/1914) in 1927. After 2 years labouring in Fremantle, Amos and Annie went farming in Korda district. In 1931 Harold joined them farming, and in 1948 they purchased a farm together in Gabbin.
