Thomas came to Australia to provide a better future for his family. Son of a ploughman, Alexander Brown Burton. Thomas worked for the WAGR for many years. He & his sons built the family home in Tasman St, Mt Hawthorn, where he & Bessie lived until their deaths, six weeks apart in 1951.
