John and Yvette were born in India and spent their childhood there and in the UK. They met in London in 1963, married in 1967 and one year later emigrated to Perth. They settled in the Perth Hills with their children Christopher (1972), Andrew (1975) and Ilona (1978). Yvette's mother Beryl emigrated in 1973.
