The family arrived with 4 children - Rudolf (10), Wilma (5) & twins Selma & Aleida (4). Three more children were born in Australia - Irene, George & Marian. The father was a pastry cook but also did various other jobs. Family initially lived in Holden Camp and then in Maddington.
