  • James Brittain's brother Robert sailed on to South Australia aboard the ship 'Frances' with his wife Suzanna Dye on 12th October 1856. Robert eventually died in 1905 in Port Pirie SA after helping to build the smelter stack and other buildings around this town. The history of this Brittain family is well documented dating back to the 1700's in the Fens of England. I am the son of late Marjorie Mary Brittain and great great grandson of Robert Brittain.
