Formed partnership with brother-in-law Alfred Mayor - 'Mayor & Brindle' Pioneer market gardeners in Spearwood. Married Alice Davies (arrived from England on Otranto 14/10/1913) Three sons James, Edwin & Frank. Also bought orchard in Parkerville in 1928. Was member of the 'WA Fruit Grower Association'. and the 'District War Agricultural Committee' formed in 1942.
