In 1921 Joanna married ex AIF sgt James Finlay, (08/02/1892 - 06/01/1940) wounded in France, 1917 whom she nursed as voluntary Red Cross nurse at Military Hospital in Liverpool, England during 1917-1918. Three daughters, Irene (dec), Mary & Lynda. 10 grandchildren. 36 grandchildren. 8 great-great grandchildren.
