Macedonia was under the Turkish Empire for 500 years. He originally went to find work in America travelling through the Panama canal. In 1913 Macedonia was divided in to 3 parts between Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Greece. In 1920 he returned home. In 1939 he came to Australia, left wife and 4 children. 1953 reunited with his wife.
