Ernest travelled with his wife Norah & her parents, Benjamin & Mary, her brother Cyril & sister Elsie. Ernest died in 1938 & was buried in the Guildford Cemetery. Ernest & Norah had one daughter, Shirley. Ernest worked as a shop assistant, farmer & served with the Norfolk Regiment.
