Read their story

Battista came to Gwalia in 1927 to work as a miner, he was naturalized 6th November 1934. His wife and family joined him in 1940. He built the family home (replicas of the miner's cottages are still in Gwalia). He died in 1960 of Carcinoma of Lung (Miners complaint).
