Shortly after her arrival, while waiting at Fremantle station with husband Oreste Vitali to board the train enroute to Noresman, Oreste was arrested and interned. Agnese never got to experience life on the goldfields or to see and live in the small shack Oreste had built to be their first home in Australia.
