Henry arrived in Fremantle at age of 6 yrs accompanied by his older brother & 2 sisters. His parents arrived sometime later & they settled in Fremantle. Dad worked as a Warder in Freo Gaol, mum as a Domestic in Freo Hospital. Older brother Fred was sent to Clontarf Boys Home and Henry to Castledare Boys Home. Josie & Mary went to St Joseph's Girls Home, which was upsetting to their mum as she was told the children were going to colleges. Some years later the family were back together again, as their parents could afford a home in Willagee. With their 2 younger sisters, Margaret, Maryann & Julie who was born in Fremantle 10yrs later.
