Arrived aged 12 with mother and brother Thomas. Worked for stepfather Edward Skinner in Shark Bay. Argued with Skinner, moved to Carnarvon & worked as barman, yardman & lighterman. Married Edith Baker in Carnarvon 1897. Moved back to Shark Bay working in pearling & as a lighterman. Owned boardinghouse in Carnarvon during WWI. Returned to Shark Bay Pearling. Died of cancer in 1933.
