The family travelled on the SKAUGUM III to Western Australia. Dad's heritage was German & Czechoslovakian & Mum's was Croatian. They bought "Island Farm" in East Northam, raised poultry, cows & mainly had a very large market garden; their produce was well known at the Perth Markets & often mentioned on the radio. Then they only ran a piggery. In 1961 they moved to Floreat where they owned & ran a fruit, vege & deli shop & became well known in the area; lastly Mum owned & ran a cake shop there & was renowned for her tortes & strudels. God Blessed me with the best parents. They had hearts of gold & nobility of character.
