Nellie, one of 52 girls aboard the SS Otway bound for Australia to work as domestics, turned 18 during her trip. She met Joseph Goodhill (Swiss immigrant) in Meckering where they married in 1915. She reportedly bore the first white male child in the Yilgarn Shire, where they had a farm (Mount Hampton).
