John served four years in the Royal Engineers, Swan River Colony, 1852 - 1856. Returned to settle in Fremantle with wife Hannah and sons, Ezecial and John. Ezecial married Harriet Luff. Five sons born Fremantle - all prominent sportsmen. Family moved 1909 to farm Boyup Brook. John married Emma Naylor, Seaman Rosette. Drowned Rosemary Island. Cossack.
