Read their story

Mrs Banks was a sister to Joseph & Edson Ledger who were the owners of J&E Ledger Engineering Foundry and Edson was the father of Sir Frank Ledger. Annie, Fred & other family members, after diembarking, walked from Fremantle to Perth & were attacked by Aborigines when rounding Kings Park. The Ledger Foundry made most of the pipes, etc for the Kalgoorlie pipe line. Fred worked as a painter in the Foundry and also made tools for the prospectors on the goldfields.
