Left Latvia due to Soviet occupation in March 1941. Then lived in wartime Germany with his parents until migrating. Spent two years working for railways at Banksiadale. Harry was employed in the automotive and bus industries until retiring in 1993. Also served in the Army Reserve for 19 years.

My Dad is the most interesting person I know. I can sit and listen to his stories for hours and hours....and I do!

My dad, Harijs, has now passed away. I miss him and I miss his incredible stories of life in Germany during WW2, and then 2 years in Banksiadale in a tent.
