Read their story

George bought land in Bornholm in 1914 and a block in Lockyer Ave, Albany 1916. 1917 joined the Australian Army and went to war, he fought in France. When he returned he met and married Irene Anderson, 1920. They had two sons, Colin and Ronald. Started a business called GP Ayres and Sons, producing certified potato seed. This business still operates today and is run by his grandson Colin Jnr.
