Travelled via trains to Kwobrub siding (in the Katanning/Nyabing area) to work on a wheat/sheep farm. Lived in a hut with dirt floor for 6 months, before joining the Main Roads. Worked with horses clearing & making roads in the Nannup/Pemberton area. Spent all his working life with Main Roads.
