Originally nominated to the Peel Estate by William & Mary-Ann Yates. The whole family worked extremely hard to build up the dairy farm from virgin bush. William & other farmers worked hard to better the milk industry. He joined picket lines and the early milk strikes & tipped gallons of milk onto railway lines in protest against milk factories underpaying the farmers for their milk. Two more children were born, Arthur William (12/12/1929 - 30/08/1986 & Ivy (03/08/1930 -). All the children were Home Educated for some time before going to schools. Daughter Ada Alice Alford married Clarence Lewington 16/03/1940. He was a direct descendant of the Maydwell/Lewington families.
