Family knew Sir James Mitchell who encouraged family to move to WA. Herbert wanted to be a farmer. Bought potato farm in Torbay Junction. Too difficult. Moved family back to Claremont after 2 years, end of 1911. Herbert then worked on the Trans Continental Railway line construction till end 1918. Then Public Works Dept - Perth. Family always lived in Claremont (until 1989).
