Walter and Irmgard (Inda) migrated with their six children: Hilde, Walter, Gerhard, Peter, Ingrid and Eric. Walter (Snr) had prearranged a job in the HEC. Eric went on to be a Tasmanian Senator and held several portfolios in the Federal Howard Government. The family arrived in Hobart on 21/03/1961.
