CHEESE DISH, late 19th century

Large round cream coloured majolica(?) ceramic cheese dish with wide flat rim, and central ridge for supporting a cover. Interior surface of dish covered with raised basketweave pattern. Three raised handpainted green leaves and three raised handpainted yellow flowers are evenly spaced around the flat rim. Edge of dish is painted brown and green. Impressed on underside is a cross, a crescent moon shape with '& SONS' impressed inside it, a circle, and an illegible makers mark. There is no cover for the dish.
