a) Folding lorgnettes. Long handled, unsprung lorgnette. C. 1900?
b) Ladys' long handled lorgnettes - similar to to some illustrated in 'Yesterday's Shopping' 1907, p. 1217.
Similar to those shown in Harrods 1895 catalogue p. 655. Date c 1895-1910. Also known as Dowago/Duchess lorgnette, or hand frames. Tortoiseshell is actually turtleshell. This particular style was the height of fashion around 1900.
