Made by John Ridgway and Co., manufacturer of fine porcelain and earthenwares at Caulden Place, Shelton (ca 1830 - 1855), in succession to J. + W. Wridgway. Mark incorporates initials (saucer) in ribbon under crest ca 1830-1841. G. Godden "The Handbook of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks". Page 112. This cup and saucer is part of a whole set passed down to Mrs. Phillips through the family.
