Ship in service 1909 to 1936. Model of State ship "Karoola". The "Karoola" was built by Harland & Wolff Ltd., at Belfast in 1909 and was the first Ship for the Australian coastal water to come from that yard. The latest vessels were in the McILWRAITH McEACHARN LINE PTY.LTD. During the 1914-18 war the "Karoola" was used by the Admiralty as a hospital ship and made many voyages between Australia and Britain. After the war "Karoola" (7,391 tons) was a 3 class passenger ship between Fremantle and Eastern States and Asia. She was sold to Chinese then Japanese owners before being broken up.
