The plaque unveiled at the ceremony in 1954 reads: "THIS BELL DONATED BY THE FREMANTLE HARBOUR TRUST AND THE STAND ERECTED BY THE BICTON PARENTS' AND CITIZENS' ASSOCIATION WERE UNVEILED BY MR J E GUSTAFSON ON 22ND DECEMBER 1954 TO COMMEMORATE THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE OPENING OF THE BICTON STATE SCHOOL".
