Printed pattern painted in overglaze enamels in the chinoiserie style. Used on board the M.V. Centaur (Alfred Holt, blue Funnel Line) during coastal trips to North West ports and Singapore in 1937. Marked on base with shipping line flag in underglaze blue (diagram) and `EILLS \ L'POOL'.
