The buoy is one of 14 used to mark navigational dangers in the approaches to Wyndham & Danvan. Provided by U.S. Navy in 1942 ca as part of joint war effort. Handed over to Commonwealth in 1941. Since then in continuous use at sea - 2 year `spell'. Now at end of useful use. Information from Department of Shipping and Transport 23.12.71.
