Box opens like match box: rods of white gutta percha in wax wrap, torn at LH end to extract rods. Back of box has instructions in English, French & Spanish: 'To soften, wave over the flame of a spirit lamp or Bunsen Burner for a few moments, being careful not to burn the material. Do not heat the gutta-percha in the flame as this would affect the quality of the material.'
[.b] Brass coloured box with green/white label: 'New / TRUE DENTALLOY'. Bottle is clear glass, octagonal with green lid & label. Instructions fold and fit in box. It appears silver-grey powder in bottle is mixed with mercury capsule to form amalgam. By the S.S. White Dental Co., England. Has 'July 67' in handwriting on lid.
[.c] Green, white black box. 'Petralit / Silico-Phosphate / FILLING PORCELAIN / LIQUID/ HOWMEDICA INTERNATIONAL LTD / DENTAL FILLINGS DIVISION / LONDON / V16 OBP'. Has 30/7/80 written in pen on lid. Box has 2 compartments: at top is rubber end of dropper. This rests on cardboard flap which lifts up to reveal bottle and glass bottom of dropper. Does not seem to have been used.
[.d] White, green, blue box with a plastic tray containing components of 'PROCAL' Protective Calcium Hydroxide Base, a hard setting radiopaque base for moderate to deep cavities.' There are 2 small tubes & pad of paper with gauze spine. 'DIRECTIONS FOR USE: / Dispense equal portions of / Paste A and Paste B onto mixing pad / mix for 10 - 15 seconds with small spatula. Mixing is complete / when colour and consistency are uniform / Place into cavity with ball applicator or explorer. / Sets fast in the mouth with ample working time on pad. / Any material inadvertently / placed into retention areas may / be removed easily with an explorer after it is set'.
