H1989.855.a-g

[.a] & [.b] 2 syringes of stainless steel: barrel is cut away to fit in ampoules like H89.854 a-c. There is a point which extends from the needle point which pierces the metal lid, while the plunger fits within the glass tube, pressing against the rubber stopper, expresssing the anaesthetic.
[.c] Box has label on lid 'MERZ-FIOLE-SYRINGE / Model Rapid for cartridges 2,2 cc / with exhangeable piston recoil spring and short and 1 long head attachment / Rustproof quality / MERZ & CO. CHEMISCHE FABRIK . FRANKFURT AM MAIN GERMANY'. In Ken's handwriting is written 'Western Dental Nov 64".
[.d] Typewritten sheet. The nature of the English suggests it is written or translated from German. Outlines the advantages of new, improved 'Rapid' model.
[.e] Instruction sheet (commercially produced). See photocopy in supplementary file. Although the ampoules H89.854 a-c appear too long for this apparatus, the syringe purports to be 'For use with any kind of cartridge'.
