KEY PUNCH MACHINE

H1991.23

Keypunch machine. Table top machine with keyboard and card processing unit. Table and machine are integral unit. Used to transfer data via keyboard onto a punched card. Card was then inserted into a computer which 'read' the data and transferred it (or the results of its calculation) into printed form on a normal printout. Samples of various cards included. This machine was used by the Murdoch University Computer Services Unit for administration purposes. It was replaced by Personal Computer with data entry software. Marked on front: "IBM 29 / CARD PUNCH / SERIAL NO 00563".
