Delivered to Willeton Store 19 May 79. First computer installed by t Government of W.A. to accommodate general departmental clerical needs. Nation Cash Register - Unique features - ROD MEMORY and CRAM (Card Random Access Memory) placed this computer in advance of its contemporaries] as a second generation computer in terms of cost effectiveness and performance. Used by Treasury: 1969 - 1978. This model originally designed for a specific customer and was introduced in 1968. It was the last of the Third generation computers "Manufactured by N.C.R LTD. Full configuration included 3 CRAM units and 5 ta drives, and total original cost was $388,000. Installed in April 1968 and use to process a wide range of Government applications 1968-1977. Printer output included all Driver's Licences, Vehicle Licences, Water Rate notices, Teachers salary cheques, Superannuation cheques, S.G.I .O vehicle policies, Achievement Certificates and many other similar documents."
