Top of peripheral control is marked: 'MODEL 10 / PERIPHERAL / CONTROL / 11264A'. Back has four plug inlets and serial number '1128A03874'. Half of top lifts up to reveal operating instructions. B. Cream coloured vinyl cover for calculator printed: 'HEWLETT-PACKARD / SERIES / 9800'. C. Interface with plate marked 'HP' (in bracket) '11202A TTL I/0 INTERFACE / HEWLETT-PACKARD / MADE IN USA / 00450'. D. Brown plastic box with fifteen paper rolls of data. E. Folder of calculator 'EXERCISE CARDS'. F-P. Cardboard folders containing program card. Q-W. Cardboard folders containing program card. X. Manilla envelope printed 'LANGUAGE CARDS7 and containing six cards of various colours. Desk calculator was used c 1972 by the C.S.I.R.O. (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation), Floreat for data handling and formatting for X-ray spectrometer output and various exploration geoscience programmes. This model has gold-plated printed circuits. Old computers and calculators such as this are now broken down to extract their component metals, especially gold.
