Box is brown cardboard printed in dark brown. 'The/ HOOVER/ REG. TRADE MARKS./ DUSTETTE/ light, efficient, and inexpensive'. 'MANUFACTURED BY HOOVER LIMITED'. Has khaki canvas carry handle on the top and a metal catch on the front.
Vacuum cleaner is hand held. It has a bakelite handle with the control switch on it. From behind the handle is the flex which has a three pronged plug. The body is metal with the centre section painted black. The dust bag is kidney shaped and painted white with 'HOOVER/ REG. TRADE MARKS/ DUSTETTE' on it. There is an oval shaped badge under the nozzle 'FOR 255-250v. D.C. -60 CYC/ RATING IS 9 WATTS 140/ MODEL 100/ No 890019/ MADE BY HOOVER LTD./ AT PERIVALE, GREENFORD, MIDDLESEX'. Has a cylindrical black nozzle attachment.
