BOTTLE, Dark green glass
H1989.1061
Dark green bottle with 2 side seams reaching to the shoulder (indicates it is machine made, post 1903). The letter 'M' has been inscribed in the centre of the recessed base but there is no other inscription. This is possibly from Melbourne Glass Bottle Works (operating 1872-1915, established by Felton & Grimwade, the becoming Australian Glass Manufacturers Ltd) which used symbol 'M' from 1900-1915. There is a layer of foil or metal inside the bottle, possibly part of the seal.
