Spectacles with case.
[.a] SPECTACLES. Oval shaped glasses with slightly curved metal band across the top. The band is held by screws to the frames and by loosening the screws, the frames may be moved closer together or further apart. The nose guards are gold or copper with cork padding and are also adjustable. It has riding bow temples. 'AC*' is stamped into the back of each noseguard.
[.b] CASE. Metal spectacles case covered in black cloth and lined with dark blue velvet. A piece of light blue paper is glued inside the lid. It carries the following information: 'MR J. VANDER VELDE M.M.A.C./ Qualified Optician/ 229 MURRAY STREET, PERTH/ Name W.E. Pearson/ Adds. Bow Gada/ RX Te? 1x32?'. On the bottom of the case in very faded and worn letters is the following: 'QUALIFIED/ OPTICIAN/ J. VAN ?/ ?/ PERTH, W.A.'.
