    Shall from today onward fly the Middelburg ensign from it for a signal given along with the boat in the evening
    at 8. o’clock sitting with the others at our tent did hear a roar as if a Cannon shot was done, which we also determined to be so.—

    met den anderen aan ons tent sittende hoorten een gedruijs
    of een Canon schoot gedaan wierd, 't welk wij ook vast stelde
    te wesen

    ten 2 uuren vertrok de klijne pont van 't Eijland
    met voornemen waar het mogelijk aan de vaste
    wal te komen en te sien of er jets viel daar wij
    ons van soude konnen bedienen, als de nood
    verEijste, en bestond de manschap met de
    klijne pont mede gegaan in de navolgende
    6 persoonen
