Model of horizontal single-cylinder engine, painted green and red, mounted on black and white checked board. This type of engine used in factories and workshops all over the world 1850-1910; first appeared 1801, not regularly manufactured until 1825 (for driving sugar mills by Messrs Taylor and Martineau).
