Framed Photograph of silver bowl presented to Capt. James Dempster by A.H. & G.M. GIQUEL of Mauritius, in the name of the Commander, Passengers & Crew of the late bark Lancier (wrecked at Swan River, on the 28th September 1839) as a memorial of friendship, and in testimony of their gratitude, for his generous and never to be forgotten acts of kindness in rescuing them from the perils of shipwrecks; and for that noble and liberal hospitality which, in their forlorn situation, he afforded to them at Swan River.
