BEAKER, copper, J.W.R. Linton
CH1973.174
Hammered finish. CONFIDENTIAL $25 purchase price
This beaker is very similar to one illustratred in the photo CH73.129 which shows a display in his studio c. 1910-13. It is also similar to one made for Lord David Cecil by the Guild of Handicraft in 1902 (His Christening) (ref. Garner 1978:170). This has been described by Betsey Carrie/Linton as Pre-raphaelite and Art Nouveau. The former perhaps because of the hand beaten finish.
