Reniochalina stalagmitis
Orange red, sometimes yellowish-white. Erect branching or sometimes fan morphology, stalked base. Branches flat or cylindrical, dichotomous or fused, usually tapering apically. Surface smooth with rounded conules. Characterised microscopically by presence of terminal spines on oxeas or anisoxeas.
Morphology
Erect, branches or digits, occasionally fan shaped, with basal stalk.
Behaviour
Sessile filter feeder.
Method of reproduction
Sexual with larvae.
Habitat
Marine
North western Australia from Ningaloo to Ashmore Reef.
Distribution
Northern Australia from Western Buccaneer Archipelago to Howick Is, QLD, and Indonesia.
