Loki Whip-Goby
Bryaninops loki
Pinkish-red; translucent; small, to 2.8cm.
Morphology
Pelvic fins modified to form a ventral sucker.
Evolution
At least 16 recognised species in the genus.
Behaviour
Commensal on seawhips and gorgonian fans.
Method of reproduction
Benthic spawners; external fertilisation; sequential hermaphrodites.
Habitat
Marine
Rocky reefs and silty areas to 45m deep.
Distribution
Chagos to Samoa, Japan and Australia.
