    the 9th: the wind S:W: to S:E: topS: breeze good weather at 8 o’clock goes the schuijt to the reef to look if any people or provisions could be found the little pont came at the Island without bringing anything along, and in the evening the schuijt and the large pont bring along

    weer ten 8 uuren vaart de Schuijt na 't rif om
    te zien of enige menschen of provisie konnen
    vinden de klijne pont quam aan 't Eijland sonder
    jets mede te brengen, en Savonds de Schuijt en de
    groote pont mede brengende een vaatje boter vangen
    nog vogelen

    the 10th: In the morning and before the noon the wind S:E: topGalt: breeze good weather go I with the schuijt
    and both the ponten to the reef with intend were it possible to get to the wreck through the breaches the which was also succeeded in with God’s help by midday, and shipped the schuijt back again to the reef with victuals I stayed with another 10 men on the wreck and had found these 10 men on the wreck

    found all casks, boxes and chests that could be get to smashed open, from the Comps: money boxes in the Cabin I found one hacked
    and two bored but could not notice anything
    was taken out I questioned in the presence of those who had come with me on board the above mented: 10 mates who so had been at the money boxes
    but everyone made excuses by saying to not know
    of it. Before that I had let the schuijt with provisions be taken to the reef afore a grapnel with iron mooring rope* to haul the schuijt therewith over and back

    Woensdag den 10e:

    aan 't rif

    komen met deschuijt aan 't wrak

    vinden kisten en
    kassen Etca: open

    't geldkist gekapt
    en 2 geboort

    brengen een dreg uijt

    Smorgens en voorde middag de wind Z:O: bramsZ: coelte
    goed weer vaar ik met de schuijt en bijde de ponten na het
    rif met voornemen jndien mogelijk was aan het wrak te komen,
    door de branding 't welk met gods hulpe op de middag ook gelukte,
    en scheepten de schuijt weder af na 't rif met victualij ik bleef aan
    boort met nog 10 mannen en hadden desen 10 mannen op 't wrak
    gevonden

    bevonden alle vaten, kisten en kassen daar maar bij te komen was
    opengeslagen, van 'S comps: geldkisten inde Cajuijt vond ik een
    gekapt, en twee geboort dog conden niet bemerken daar jets
    uijtgenomen was ik ondervroeg in presentie van degene die met
    mij aan boort gekomen waren de bovengem: 10 maats wie of aan
    de geldkisten hadde geweest maar ider verontschuldigde met te
    zeggen daar niet van te weten, ik hadde met de schuijt eer bij met
    provisie na 't rif voor een dreg met een ijser tros na het rif laten
    brengen om met de schuijt daarbij af en aan te halen
